President’s Message
June Ravaillion
“We don’t have residents or staff or volunteers or supporters - we are all part of the Dorothy Impey Home extended family.”
June Ravaillion, who is now in her 10
th year as President of the Dorothy Impey Home Board of Management is following a tradition of three generations of her family who have been involved in a broad range of voluntary civic and communal activities. A local resident for nearly 50 years June has always been involved in community work including being a Girl Guides Commissioner.
June’s initial contact with DIH started in the 1980’s when she became a volunteer at the DIH opportunity shop before joining the Board of Management in 1990 and being elected president in 1994.
“The most exciting aspect of my 10 years as President is the outstanding spirit and support from staff, residents and their families and the community of supporters who all contribute to making DIH such a unique place. We don’t have residents or staff, we are all part of the DIH extended family.
“Our plans to build the new 90 bed DIH reflect the great need in the Moreland community. This urgently needed community residence is very exciting. This is our commitment in serving the local community in the 21
st century, as we have for more than 40 years,” June said.
